Santa Rosa, NM

Wow!!! 597 miles today. We got up at 6am and left Kingman at 7:30am. We had a wonderful drive through Arizona -Seligman, Williams, Flagstaff, Winslow, Holbrook, New Mexico - Gallup, Albuquerque and finally Santa Rosa. We had lunch at a rest stop, Calvin slept the whole 600 miles except for a coupe of pit stops. We had a great TexMex dinner at the Route 66 restaurant in Santa Rosa(pop. 2300) and now are unwinding. Priscilla is watching TV with Calvin by her side. Tomorrow we hope to make Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

To our grandkids Carissa, Brandon, Logan and Gage - we saw some beautiful country today and went through some terrific thunderstorms. We saw some horses, cows, and mesas in New Mexico. Ask your Mom's what mesas are. Love you all and miss you already!

Your travel is about like ours--about the speed of a turtle.. We know people who can make it to Florida in 2 and a half days. It's more fun to enjoy the trip rather than just see the interstate. You just missed Lori--She also stayed in Kingman last night, but by the time she called us it was too late to call you. She was on her way to Ventura--we'll see her on Wed. Enjoy the open road and keep on trucking! John and Margie
